Josh Gad Parodies Kellyanne Conway’s Lies With Rewritten Book of Mormon Song

I think I'm a Josh Gad fan now?

You may have forgotten, since tickets were basically impossible to get forever, but Josh Gad was in the original cast of Broadway’s musical comedy The Book of Mormon. On Twitter, a fan passed along a parody meme of one of the show’s songs aimed at Kellyanne Conway (who, last night, brought up a “massacre” that never happened), and Gad promised to perform it if his tweet could get over 1,000 likes. Needless to say, it far surpassed that number in short order, and now we’re blessed with this gem of a musical number to cap off the week in politics.

2017 is really weird. Once upon a time, there was a lot to joke around about in the news. Now, it’s become a barren hellscape of trying to wring some small amount of joy out of calling out the Trump administration’s bullshit while also doing our part to help keep people informed at the same time, which usually requires approximately infinity side notes per paragraph just to keep the facts straight among the labyrinth of nonsense.

Bless Josh Gad for giving us this all-too-perfect parody.
