Stormageddon’s Dad Joins Into The Woods Cast

Ok, so he’s more than just Stormageddon’s dad. British actor James Corden has been added to the big-screen musical Into the Woods. Who will he be playing?

“Disney’s big-screen adaptation of the beloved Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods has found its Baker,” writes The Hollywood Reporter. “British actor James Corden – who won a Tony last year for his work in Broadway’s One Man, Two Guvnors – has been cast in the lead role of the married bread maker who longs for a baby after a spell of barrenness is placed on his wife by the witch next door, a Disney casting notice confirms.”

I just know I’ll sit there the entire time yelling, “BUT CRAIG! YOU ALREADY HAVE A BABY. HE IS THE DARK LORD OF ALL!”

The film is being directed by Rob Marshall and Corden will join actors and Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp, already anounced as the Witch and the Wolf respectively.

OH THANK HEAVENS. That makes Depp the Wolf, which he could just about pull off. Still not sold on Streep, but whatevs. She can fake it.

Streep, I guess, since she’s a supreme actress, though it’s clear she can’t sing well enough for a musical (Mamma Mia was a low in her career, and basically a low for everyone else in that film). And God, isn’t anyone else tired of Johnny Depp being the go-to guy for these kinds of roles? Isn’t HE sick to death of seeing himself in each of these? Wasn’t Sweeny Todd enough?

    Bah humbug.

Remember when Patrick Stewart called him fat and gay?

The apology was pretty epic, though.

“OH THANK HEAVENS.” This was, oddly enough, exactly my own reaction.
