In Case of A Zombie Outbreak, the CDC Would Get Right On That

If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine). It’s likely that an investigation of this scenario would seek to accomplish several goals: determine the cause of the illness, the source of the infection/virus/toxin, learn how it is transmitted and how readily it is spread, how to break the cycle of transmission and thus prevent further cases, and how patients can best be treated.

The CDC, on its role in a hypothetical zombie outbreak. As for what you can do, you should prepare for zombies like you would any other natural disaster: stock up on water, food, first aid, and wait it out in a safe place.

They do not, however, mention useful improvised weapons or heading out to your favorite pub.

Now that a government agency has acknowledged zombies as a “hypothetical” threat, perhaps extraterrestrials will get a nod as well?

Any word about the CDC’s opinion on the double tap?

zombies aren’t real. you’re fucking retarded if you like talking about them.

Theoretically Edcedc8, Zombie-ism is real but not as portrayed by the modern flesh eating, undead. Zombie-ism is a condition in which a person is hypnotized and under the control of someone else. This was practiced to keep people as slaves and docile. So the Voodoo curse was really just a form of hypnosis. Anytime you see a hypnotist convince someone to cluck like a chicken or bark like a dog, the subject is currently a zombie, technically speaking.

As to the walking dead form of zombie-ism, yes it isn’t real. However it isn’t totally out of the realm of plausibility. Flesh eating bacteria that could make someone look zombie like are very much real & some people are known cannibals. Put them all together (hypnosis included) and you could have the makings of a come to life zombie straight out of Night of the Living Dead.

The CDC probably addressed it because they address any concerns whether real or not. Plus, it never hurts to be prepared for any disaster. :)
