The Hunger Games Costumes Go On A Multi-City Tour Then Up For Auction At NYCC

May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favor

The odds won’t have to be in your favor to grab a costume from The Hunger Games, but you might need a bank error in your favor. Haxbee, Inc are putting the fantastical costumes from the Lionsgate film up for auction after traveling the country on a special tour. Will they make a stop near you?

Haxbee are putting on the “Hunger Games Costumes Exhibit & Auction” starting with a preview at movie and television memorabilia convention, The Hollywood Show, in Los Angeles from January 11-13. From there, the costumes will head to three more conventions around the U.S.

  • March 1-3 Emerald City Comicon, Seattle, WA
  • April 26-28 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Chicago, IL
  • October 10-13 New York Comic Con, New York, NY

The press release says more dates may be added in the future but the entire exhibit will end in New York to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Over 200 costumes will be available and, “interested bidders will be able to bid live in-person, by telephone, via absentee, and on the Internet,” so you won’t necessarily need a pass to the convention. We won’t know until April (when they put out the auction catalog) which exact costumes will be for sale but here’s what you can expect to see at the exhibit:

The exhibit will feature original screen-worn costumes from the record-breaking blockbuster, including costumes worn by Jennifer Lawrence as “Katniss,” Josh Hutcherson as “Peeta,” Elizabeth Banks as “Effie,” Stanley Tucci as “Caesar,” Liam Hemsworth as “Gale,” Woody Harrelson as “Haymitch,” Lenny Kravtiz as “Cinna,” Donald Sutherland as “President Snow,” Wes Bentley as “Seneca,” and many, many more.

Considering NYCC is in October, the exhibit will be a nice promotion for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, in theaters November 21. If money were no object, which one costume would you want in your closet?
