If by “sunshine and rainbows” you mean “crippling emotional detachment,” which I do. This is The Hunger Games. No one can ever be happy.

    I think it’s supposed to heavily borrow on the Soviet propaganda posters. If you look at Peeta, he’s very much like a strong Russian man in it. The set of his jaw, his determined expression, etc.

    But the Soviets were (titled, but not in practice) Communist, not Socialist ;)
