Even though last weekend was for celebrating the Fourth of July, I spent it glued to my Internet (as per usual) because a new anime titled Sailor Moon Crystal premiered last Saturday on Hulu. It’s possible that you maybe sort of possibly have heard of it.
Which, of course, means snacks! The premiere is perfect motivation to celebrate the sailor scout within all of us, so whether you’re new to Sailor Moon or a seasoned Moonie, these Sailor Moon inspired cookies are definitely worth baking and enjoying. They’re so delicious, in fact, that technology ate all my best photos of the final result! All we have left is this test photo, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
Since Sailor Moon Crystal is starting at the very beginning, it only makes sense that these snacks do too. Like Usagi herself would want, these lemon sugar cookies with strawberry buttercream frosting are not only super easy to bake, but they’re absolutely delicious and are decorated to look like Sailor Moon’s transformation brooch. As with the How to Train Your Dragon 2 bangle, these cookies can be made in an afternoon and all the ingredients can be easily found at your local grocery store.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
Fingers crossed that yours make it to the next episode of Sailor Moon Crystal , because mine certainly did not. Happy baking!
