Peter Jackson and company have delivered not a teaser, but a full two-and-a-half minute trailer that perfectly marries the tone of The Hobbit to the more familiar epic tone of The Lord of the Rings, and I think I speak for many when I say: Mr. Jackson? Thanks for having us back in Bag End.

    I think this is when I start hopping up and down in excitement for the next 12 months… Also, the song of the dwarves? PERFECT. Just how I always imagined it.

    Oh wow oh wow oh wow!  Amazing.  I was in Sons of Durin (a kinship) in LotRO, where most of the primary officers were dwarves, so like, dwarves = awesome now and forever to me.  Wow!

    I really do hope they include many of the songs/poems from the book. I was disappointed with the lack of them in TLotR, but I understand that they were trying to save on time, as well as keep a pretty… serious tone, which some of the sillier songs can take away from. Glad to hear that Over the Misty Mountains is at least included.

    Still, really want to hear their renditions of What Bilbo Baggins Hates, the elves’ first song, and Fifteen Birds in Five Fir Trees, at least. I always just loved how they would burst into song; it seemed authentic, and always reminded me of my family. If one of us started singing a song the rest of us recognized, we’d all start in.

    Yesss…….I was a little bit skeptical of how they were going to balance it, tone-wise, but this looks promising in that regard…

    …and also my inner four year old who made all my friends sneak into a showing of “Tin Tin” and just sit there for twenty minutes so I could see this trailer on the big screen is still jumping up and down and shrieking.
