We aren't likely to see a Hellboy 3 anytime soon considering comic writer Mike Mignola has ruled it out and star Ron Perlman has said about the same, but that didn't stop Big Red from making an appearance for a special cause. Perlman joined the Make-A-Wish Foundation and design/effects firm Spectral Motion to make one six-year-old's dream come true. Not only did he get to meet Hellboy, he was transformed into mini-Hellboy himself! Check out how it all went down.
If Spectral Motion sounds familiar to you, it's because they worked on Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy and Hellboy 2. So, they're used to this.
Here's little Zachary getting his own set of filed-down horns!
Zachary is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. Spectral Motion wrote, "It was Zachary's wish to meet Hellboy and also to become Hellboy. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted Spectral Motion with this request, Mike thought it would be fantastic to have Ron Perlman reprise his role for the day. "
Now he knows a portion of what Perlman had to go through every day on set of the Hellboy films.
Tada! Mini-Hellboy!
"Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde), " writes Spectral Motion, "and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy."
Looks like they just successfully took down some bad guys.
Spectral Motion had done another Make-A-Wish event a few weeks earlier with another boy. You can see the pictures on their Facebook page.
