We’ve known for some time that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would feature Star-Lord’s father, but this new trailer finally brings him to the screen, along with more story hints and humor.
Gamora even gets to say words this time! (Though most of the good lines predictably go to everyone else …) However, it does look like there’s a redemption arc for Nebula in here, which will likely prove to be the reason director James Gunn has said that the sequel does more than just pass the Bechdel-Wallace test. That storyline probably also heavily involves Gamora, so we’ll hold out a little more hope that there’s some solid material in there that’s being held back from the trailers.
