Yeah, the scene with Sansa and the Hounds is badass. Good foreshadowing and character setup there. Too bad they can’t just recycle it into S3!

Wise decision to cut these. The acting’s not up to par in some of them. But, as the other commentators have said, nice to see more scenes, esp Loras-Marg related.

It’s a shame we lost the first posted scene (the Margaery/Loras exchange). I guess it was expendable but it was nice to see a scene between a brother and sister who A. weren’t actually sexually involved with each other and B. were credited with having actual human feelings about each other.

People talk a lot about all the morally grey characters in GOT, but it seems to me that outside the Noble Starks, there’s very few people who are actually credited with having real, non-peverted feelings for each other. The goodies are goodies, the baddies are baddies; they’re just fun-to-read goodies and baddies.

I like the books and the series, but I feel there’s a kind of teenage cynisism about a lot of the writing (which accounts for all the rape as well). It’s no more emotionally realistic than a book where everyone is nice to each other all of the time, and it presents no less naive an insight into human nature.

As one of the few scenes where two (non-Stark) people show that they simply care about each other, it was a shame the Margaery/Loras scene had to go. Presumably to make time for more scenes of sex-as-imagined-by-a-horny-13-year-old.

Exactly.

Though that is one of the things I love about the book, is how these details get filtered through other POVs.

The *book* didn’t dare to go for complete visuals, you find out about it due to (what else) rumours and letters. I was half convinced it was exaggeration until everyone kept saying it.

I only hope they do show the best wedding after showing the worst one, because I know a lot of people who will rage-quit if they don’t get THAT satisfaction

I wish they had kept the Hound/Sansa/Tyrion bit and the Varys/Petyr bit. Both seem to add something important that will be alluded to in the future as well.
But no – boobies and swooning romance had to be added.
I do hope season 3 will be a little more true to the original.
