Check out the trailer for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, a remake of his 1984 short live action film. While the original film (and initial trailer) only focuses on the young Victor bringing his recently deceased dog back to life, this stop motion-animated version will show us the logical consequences of bringing your dog back from the dead: utter mayhem, duh. Hopefully the casual racism of what otherwise looks to be an extremely cute film will be limited to Victor’s Japanese friend Toshiaki bringing back Godzilla.

The film will feature the return of Burton favorites Wynona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara as voice actors, in addition to Charlie Tahan, Martin Landau, Martin Short. It opens October 5th, 2012.
