Fantastic Four Might Be X-ing Over with X-Men

Warning: Fandom X-ing Ahead

Director of the movie Singer poses at the premiere of "Jack the Giant Slayer" in Hollywood, California

We get that a lot of you aren’t too thrilled about the upcoming Fantastic Four movie and everything. We totally understand. But isn’t it at least a little exciting to hear that Bryan Singer addressed the rumors flying around about a possible Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover? He lent those rumors a thread of truth in an interview with Yahoo! Movies posted today.

In the interview, Singer was referencing the rumors when he said, “Those ideas are in play. That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”

How would they do it? “It deals with time. That’s all I’m going to say.” Ah, yes, the writer’s favorite trope: time travel as a means to a crossover. We’ve already seen the X-Men playing with time travel in X-MenDays of Future Past, so it’s conceivable that they could use that plot device again… maybe. At least, it’s something that’s proven to exist and is possible.

What do you think? Would you go check out this crossover?
