Emily Axford Breaks Down Myths About Hymens and Virginity on Adam Ruins Everything

"It's just something we made up to be mean to women, like Entourage."

Adam Ruins Everything featured a short segment recently titled “The Truth About Hymens And Sex” that was way more informative than any of my middle school health classes. In less than 4 minutes, Emily Axford not only dispels a bunch of myths around the hymen with a helpful visual representation involving balloons and a marching band, but also comments on horrible health education, ridiculous representations in media (I trusted you Law and Order: SVU), and horrible, horrible ways that these myths find their way into legislation.
