Elena Anaya Plans to be a “Nightmare” in the Wonder Woman Movie

Watch out.

The Wonder Woman trailer left many hoping that the film would turn out to be decent, and with the film not arriving until next year, the jury is still out on that one. What we do know is that the movie has found its villain in Van Helsing actress Elena Anaya. However, we still don’t know exactly which character she’ll be portraying on the big screen. That hasn’t stopped her from teasing her role in the project.

“Well, it was a small role in this big ensemble, but it is an important character in the story…I’m going to be…a big nightmare for the two of them,” she said in an interview with the Spanish film website SensaCine, according to Comic Book Resources.

Wonder Woman will tell a new origin story for the famed comic book hero, from her roots as an Amazon to her role in World War I. The film, which heads to theaters on June 2, 2017, stars Gal Gadot in the titular role. Chris Pine, Robin Wright and David Thewlis will co-star.

Director Patty Jenkins made headlines a few months ago after responding to an anonymous open letter which alleged that the film was a mess: “Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious? This is some made up bs right here. Made up! Produce a source, anyone. You can’t because it’s entirely false. Don’t believe the hype people. Someone’s trying to spread some serious misinfo,” she wrote in a series of tweets. “Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction.”

She has a point, though. Time will be the real truth teller in all of this.
