The World Doesn't End Because the Doctor Dances

If You Love Doctor Who’s Donna Noble, You’ll Love This Video

And if you don’t love Donna Noble well then, why are you on this page? BBC America recently hosted a Doctor Who special titled “The Women of Doctor Who.” Like the one they produced on the science of Doctor Who, this one features Steven Moffat and famous friends of the show from around Hollywood discussing, in this case, Catherine Tate’s character Donna Noble. I miss that lady.

I adored Donna. That chemistry was so perfect. Her last episode made me sob so freaking hard.

Best Companion ever. I’m still hoping we’ll see her again, maybe the anniversary special?

She is truly my favorite companion for so many reasons. She was impulsive, scared, and outright irritating. She outright admitted a few times that she didn’t think there was anything special about her. Her character was such a breath of fresh air. I like to envision a parallel universe where she and the Tenth Doctor at some sort of space bar hanging out together. You’d walk by them and instantly know that they’re not a couple. They are just two friends sitting in
    Companionable silence.

I spent the entire start of the season defending Donna.  And once Forest of the Dead lensed, I turned to my friends and asked “Can you all shut up now that Catherine Tate hasn’t got the acting chops to be a Companion?”

The chemistry between Tennant and Tate was sparkling, and it carried through in the relationship between Donna and Ten.  Her ending was absolutely tragic, more so than almost any other companion.  To be reset to first position was the cruelest thing Davies could have done, more by far than anything Moffat has thought up yet.

    Yet.
