Forget Watches With Gears and Cogs, The Devon Tread Opts For Belts

Recommended Videos

In this digital world, it’s sort of weird to see someone trying to innovate analog technology, almost as weird as it is cool. Innovating analog technology seems to be exactly what the Devon Tread watch is trying to do, or at the very least, it’s trying to make analog technology more stylish, with belts. I don’t know about you, but I think they pulled it off.

As you might expect, the Devon Tread does not come cheap. For the luxury of having an awesome looking watch that displays the time with four internal 2-micron thin belts, you can expect to pay a cool $17,500 for the most basic model, and up to $19,500 for the more expensive ones. I can’t conceive of any possible future where I might have the money to spend on that, but I also can’t conceive of any possible future where I’m not wishing that I did. Granted, the belt system results in a lot of irrelevant numbers on the face at any given time, but the framing makes it pretty clear what you should be paying attention to.

If you really dig the design, you might want to wait for this summer when the Devon Tread version 2 rolls out, but let’s face it, all you’ll be doing is drooling anyways, so might as well just drool over this right now.
