Deleted Scene From The Muppets Features More Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, Gonzo, and a Robot! [Video]

Many people I talked to after seeing The Muppets said something very similar: “Could have used more Gonzo,” “Could have used more Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker,” and “Could have used more robots.” Okay, exactly no one said that last one, because we were already introduced to the newest robotic Muppet, ’80s Robot. But in this deleted scene from the movie (which will be featured on the DVD and Blu-ray, which comes out on March 20), we get more Gonzo, more Bunsen Honeydew, more Beaker, and a bonus robot. After the jump: another behind-the-scenes video.

    If I had one beef with The Muppets I wouldn’t say it was too little Gonzo or Bunsen and Beaker (although those are valid points) it’s that there was a staggering lack of Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. It wouldn’t have been too hard to give them a song and still keep the same run time. You know that big fixin up the theatre montage?

    Well maybe that doesn’t need to be inexplicably set to “We Built This City”  maybe it could have been a perfect place to stick the Electric Mayhem. I get my Dr. Teeth and the movie gets an awesome little throwback to the fixin up the Studebaker montage from The Muppet Movie.

    Everybody happy…except maybe Starship who were probably really happy to get the royalites.
