CW DC Shows Adorably Welcome Supergirl To the Universe

“You look like the attractive yet non-threatening cast of a CW show,” Cat Grant once quipped–perhaps prophetically.

As we already know, Supergirl is joining The CW for its 2016-2017 season alongside previous DCTV offerings like Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. While we’ve yet to see any new footage crossing over the four shows (although we have been promised that epic four-way crossover that should be coming this season, okay?), the network has put together an adorable video in the retro style of the DC Super Friends, along with a perfect 50s-era voiceover. Footage from all of the shows has been interspersed with images of the original comic book characters in their classic iterations.

Sadly, there was no new footage to share at Comic-Con either since they technically haven’t started shooting for season two yet, and there’s some clever editing done to make it look as if these Supergirl characters are talking to people other than Barry Allen (who they’ve already met), but I don’t care. The prospect of having all four DC superhero shows on the same network is enough to fill me with high levels of giddiness, and I’m counting down the days until Supergirl officially airs on its new home.
