Through the magic of lenticular printing—you know, those pictures with two separate images on them, and you switch back and forth by moving it around—Brooklyn-based startup gifpop is printing the pinnacle of human artistic achievement: The gif. Yes, you can upload your own, though the limit is ten frames. You can even choose two still images—like, for instance, happy Bilbo and Bilbo flipping everyone off. There has to be a catch, like you’re not allowed to use gifs from copyrighted material or something. The website doesn’t specify, but the universe cannot be good enough to allow me to have a physical copy of Nathan Fillion being judgey to carry around with me, close to my heart.

“Am I interested [in a Lois-Superman-Wonder Woman love triangle]? I don’t know. I mean, we’ll see. I hope that I can be involved with a woman on screen where we’re not in a love triangle. That would be fun. Maybe where we team up together and we work as teammates instead of adversaries.”—A few days ago Amy Adams was taken a bit aback by a question about Wonder Woman, since she didn’t even know the superheroine would be in Man of Steel 2 until the interviewer asked her about it. But turn the subject to a Wonder Woman-Lois-Superman love triangle, and boy, she knows what she wants to say. Props to Adams, because if I were in her shoes I would’ve given the same negative answer, but there probably would have have been some cursing. Clearly she’s classier than I.READ MORE

While we’re here, let’s all take this opportunity to watch Bee and Puppycat again. You can’t watch it too many times. Trust me. The kickstarter campaign to give us more episodes of the Natasha Allegri‘s animated short is still underway, but in the meantime, BOOM! Studios has announced plans to make a comic featuring our favorite inter-dimensional temp employees. Not a lot of info yet on the comic, but the teaser poster is adorable. If you haven’t donated to the Kickstarter yet, there’s still 13 days left for you to head over and do that. Let’s get ALL the Bee and Puppycat!READ MORE

The video associated with this screencap—in which David Tennant talks pigtails, playing Richard II on stage (which is why he’s sporting this lovely long hair), and Doctor Who—is regrettably unembeddable. You can watch it over on the BBC website, but we just had to share this image with you. I’m sure you understand.

A study by researchers at the Cologne Institute has determined that eating popcorn makes moviegoers at least somewhat immune to advertisements—for example, those godawful commercials that you’re forced to sit through before the movie starts. “Thank you for watching Regal FirstLook” my tuchus. Not like I have a choice, Regal.READ MORE

Funko has been great for giving us classic characters in their Pop! line of vinyl toys but it’s when they hit that certain nostalgia spot my wallet just opens all on its own. The latest? New series based on Planet of the Apes (so getting Dr. Zaius!), The Goonies, and one of my all-time favorites, Back to the Future.READ MORE
Sir Patrick Stewart, Wil Wheaton, and Madeleine Albright Had a Conversation on Twitter, And It Was Glorious
by Rebecca Pahle | 4:35 pm, October 9th, 2013
Madeleine Albright (“First of 3 female SecState’s – last to join Twitter. Better late than never!“) recently got a Twitter account, and when she’s not tweeting at Hilary Clinton about playing drums at a concert (twice!) or talking about the government shutdown she’s reminiscing with Sir Patrick Stewart and Wil Wheaton about that time she was almost in Star Trek: Nemesis.
The world is a wonderful place sometimes.
