Yesterday we found out that Parks and Recreations‘ Chris Pratt will be starring in Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord. Today Vulture‘s Kyle Hilton gives us our first piece of Parks and Rec/Guardians fanart. Things like this are why I love the Internet.

Reviews for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey have started to make their way online but I’m avoiding them so I can’t say with confidence whether or not the film includes Gandalf playing the bagpipes while riding a unicycle. But like, that sounds like something you’d want to see, right? Though I will express how awesome I think this is, I think he missed an opportunity by not dressing as Bilbo because then he could call himself Bilbo Bagpipes.

We here at The Mary Sue hope you will take this video and make it your weekend anthem. These sx ladies are known as the Buranovskiye Babushki (translation: the Buranovo Grannies). They were the winners of the Russian National final and are on to represent their country in the competition this year in May. According to the BBC, “The lyrics to the song, which feature a mixture of English and Udmurt – a language related to Finnish – were written by the grandmothers.” PARTY FOR EVERYBODY!

If there’s anything that supporters of marriage equality hate more (than the bigots, of course), it’s the constant reminder that people can actually get married and divorced on a whim, like it’s nothing, really. People can get married in Las Vegas while drinking themselves into oblivion. Politicians decry same-sex marriage while married to their third wife. And radio shows can offer an on-air divorce as a prize in a contest. That’s precisely what was being offered by a couple of disc jockeys at the New Zealand radio station The Rock, who announced a contest with the winner getting the chance to go on the air and tell his wife that he wants a divorce. On Valentine’s Day. Darling. Well, the winner of that contest, who did, in fact, make it on to the air, was not exactly the type of winner the DJs were expecting, but they played along anyway. She was going to break up with her husband on the air. But when her “husband” made it on to the air, it turned out she was playing a prank on them — with her wife. Bababooey!

How It Should Have Ended usually does a great job re-doing the end of famous films but this time…they’ve done an amazing job. The HISHE team goes a bit further with their changes to Return of the Jedi in their first short of 2012, and shows us not only how the ending could have been done differently, but several other key points in the film as well. And the very end? Let’s just say it seems as though HISHE doesn’t think George Lucas went far enough with his edits and additions.

Comedian/actress Betty White is celebrating her 90th birthday today and we salute her. NBC held a huge party that aired last night with cameos from Mary Tyler Moore, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Carol Burnett, Ellen DeGeneres and Hugh Jackman just to name a few. But, there was also one very special birthday greeting from President Barack Obama. Take a look at what he had to say.
This one goes out to our very own birthday girl, Jamie Frevele, who shares her birthday not just with White but also First Lady Michelle Obama, Andy Kaufman, James Earl Jones, Eartha Kitt, Zooey Deschanel, Jim Carrey and seemingly tons of other famous people. Jamie, you are destined for greatness.

Well, this is adorable. A cute, round, African bull frog playing a video game in which it catches fake ants! Wait, it’s actually kinda hungry … Frog, why are you looking at me like that? … Frog? …
ETA: You should also check out the video to which this one was a response, featuring a less angry bearded dragon.

Before everyone gets as excited as I surely did, I’ll clarify on the headline: There is no official word that Michael Keaton is going to be reprising his titular role in the sequel to 1988′s Beetlejuice. I can’t even offer a follow-up “However …” because this is merely the very, very strong desire expressed by the screenwriter writing the script to the Beetlejuice sequel, Seth Grahame-Smith. But now that it’s been put into the ether … can Keaton really, really, really resist this? What do we have to do to make this happen, besides (obviously) saying his name three times and making it so?

The Back to the Future trilogy are some of my favorite films of all time. They’re pretty much perfect in my eyes in fact but that doesn’t mean I’m not open to some humorous interpretation of the source material. Take for instance this fan film made by YouTube user MidiansMusic. I’m not going to spoil the surprise but this one mixes BTTF with something else we all know and love to major success.
