Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming TV show The Strain has been heavily anticipated, and we’ve finally gotten our first teaser trailer for it.  Frankly, it looks… terrifying!  Hopes are high for this show, which is about a doctor from the Center for Disease Control going up against a strain of vampirism.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Norman Reedus Star In Too-Good-To-Be-True Casting Rumors

I’m almost sorry to tell you about these casting rumors. The inevitable choosing of different actors, however good they might be, will surely be met with a twinge of disappointment. Why do I say “inevitable”? Because Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Norman Reedus couldn’t possibly be in the Sandman and The Crow movies, respectively. The universe just doesn’t love us that much.

This Brotherhood-made LEGO recreation of Return of the King‘s Battle at the Black Gate is proof that good kings are not made by getting swords thrown at them. Take Aragorn in this scene, for example!

Enjoy the First Eight Minutes of the New Ghost in the Shell Series [VIDEO]

border 1: Ghost Pain, the first of four chapters in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, doesn’t come out theatrically for another week. And that’s just in Japan—everyone else will have to wait until the Blu-ray comes out on July 26th. Luckily for those needing a fix of fighting anime heroines, the first eight minutes have just been released. The video above is an SD version with English subtitles. If you speak Japanese you can watch the subtitle-less HD version behind the cut, where you’ll also find a summary of what exactly the clip’s setting up.

Have a New Cumbervideo and Cumberpicture of Star Trek Into Darkness‘ CumberVillain [VIDEO]

The video, wherein Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Star Trek Into Darkness villain (whom I call the Cumbervillain, because reasons) issues a warning to Captain Kirk, is less effective than the similar Man of Steel video from a few days back, but at a mere 43 seconds it’s still worth your time. Check it out behind the jump.

New Summer Camp Lets You Find Out What Kind of Horror Movie Hero(ine) You’d Be

I think everyone at one point or another has wondered how they’d fare in a slasher movie. Personally, I’d like to think that I’d snap into badass mode fairly quickly and make it to the end, busting a few heads along the way. But something tells me I’d be killed fairly early on. I’ll (hopefully) never know.

But those in the Los Angeles area (or those willing to travel there) can find out courtesy of the Great Horror Campout, a summer camp that lets you live the horror movie experience. Without, y’know. Actually dying.

It was just another day on the course for Swedish golfer Daniela Holmqvist. Until she was bit by a Black Widow spider, that is. Did the rookie run off to seek medical attention? No, she used a golf tee to cut into her skin and remove the venom. Daniela Holmqvist, you are a superhero.
