There’s A New Featurette For The Giver, and Thank God, It’s Got Scenes In Black and White

Which is not to say that I’m feeling entirely better about this one yet. The Giver was the first book that made me cry, and despite the presence of author Lois Lowry herself, this featurette just doesn’t mesh with the image of the Community that I had in my head. But we’ll see. We’ll see.

Who Wants to See Anne Hathaway Sing Broadway Versions of Rap Songs? [VIDEO]

You do? Well you’re in luck, ’cause that’s just what she did on Jimmy Fallon‘s Tonight Show recently. Now seems like a good time to rewatch that rap Natalie Portman did on Saturday Night Live a few years back. No reason. It’s behind the jump for your viewing pleasure.

Does the First Teaser for Zoe Saldana’s Rosemary’s Baby Remake Look As Bad As You Thought It Would? [VIDEO]

Just sayin’. 90% of the responses I’ve seen to the Zoe Saldana Rosemary’s Baby miniseries have been “Whyyy, NBC, whyyyy???!?” The Sound of Music Live! really got to us.

Telltale Releases A Trailer For The Wolf Among Us, Episode 3

When last we left The Wolf Among Us, Bigby was f*#$@ing pissed. In this trailer for Episode 3 of Telltale Games’ series based on the Vertigo Comic, it seems not much has changed. That said, I’m very much enjoying this game and I look forward to threatening more Fables with my wolfy-ness.

Side note: how nice is it some folks are now taking the time to put a spoiler warning in the actual video? We saw that just yesterday with the Game of Thrones Honest Trailer.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Writer Says the Film Is Really Light and Fun, Honest

A common criticism of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer, released yesterday, is that looks a lot darker than what most fans of the original “cowabunga!”-filled Saturday morning cartoon expected, both tonally and visually. Another criticism: That it looks like a generic Hollywood blockbuster, all the charm of the original leeched out of it. A third: That it just looks bad. In an interview with Coming Soon screenwriter André Nemec talked about the first criticism, though not the second or third. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn’t dark! It’s a light, fun movie! A light, fun movie where buildings collapse and everything is shadowy and the turtles look like they were spat forth from some fiery hellscape.

The Dragon’s Daughter, A Game Of Thrones Auto-Tune Single, Is My New Jam [VIDEO]

John D. Boswell (aka @musicalscience) has created an amazing Game Of Thrones (Season 1) tribute song which includes not only Daenerys, as you probably already guessed, but Mr. Snow, Jon Snow (and other Westeros natives), singing. I CAN’T STOP LISTENING TO IT.

Sir Ian McKellen Narrates #NoBystanders Anti-Bullying Campaign [VIDEO]

Warning: This video for Stonewall UK‘s anti-bullying campaign is all about standing up for what’s right when you see people direct offensive language and slurs at someone else, and as such, it contains offensive language and slurs. The use of the words themselves make for a very powerful campaign, and Sir Ian McKellen must think so too, thus his (non-slur-speaking) participation. Stonewall UK is asking that people take a pledge against bullying at the #NoBystanders website.

Meow: Our First Look at Gotham‘s Selina Kyle Is Here

Yesterday we saw Harvey Bullock, and today it’s Ms. Kyle, played by Camren Bicondova. What do you think? I’m loving the way the building silhouettes make it look like she has cat ears.
