Originally, this Star Wars animation by YouTuber Otaking77077 (and I’m assuming, some other people) had no sound at all. Then it was taken down. Then re-uploaded by another user with some music of their choosing. You can listen to it that way if you want but I suggest hitting mute, deciding on your own soundtrack (or simplify things and choose John Williams’ score), and voicing the characters yourself. Regardless, this is impressive stuff and I look forward to seeing the creators’ final version.

Star Wars Uncut is a project that could only come about through the internet and with the support of a rabid fan community: the people behind it separated Star Wars: A New Hope into segments of no more than fifteen seconds, and allowed fans to claim segments and restage them however they wanted. The sound had to be from the original movie, but the visuals? Cardboard costumes, action figure stop-motion, claymation, and straight up genuine attempts to perfectly recreate the scene were all acceptable. Then, once every 15 second segment had been covered, they’d all be strung together in one bizzare fan-made movie where for fifteen seconds, an Imperial Star Destroyer is represented by a slice of pizza.
Their trailer for Star Wars Uncut: The Empire Strikes Back, clearly filmed partially at the recent Star Wars Celebration con, is in keeping with that spirit. And if you’d like to watch all two hours and five minutes of Star Wars Uncut, well, that’s available free right here.

Yeaaah…what about all those Imperial officers who get injured in the line of duty? Who can they turn to?

Hey, are you a fan of geeky nail art? We have good news for you, especially if you have a knack (meaning you are confidently ambidextrous) for painting tiny pictures on your fingernails — Cute Polish has a tutorial up on its Youtube page on how to create a delightful (and “easy”) Stormtrooper manicure! All you’ll need is your favorite base coat, white nail polish, and a black detailing pen. And, perhaps, two bionic hands. But here is the fun part: it’s narrated by Darth Vader. And let me tell you, you have not known joy/fear until you’ve heard Darth Vader say he’s going to show you “how to paint your nails.”

All that’s missing from Galaxia de Pasión is actually seeing Han Solo’s evil twin, because I would have liked to see what he looked like. Probably just Han with a beard. I’m okay with that.
We hope you have a Pasión-ate weekend!

Google has been developing a driverless car, operated by software that replicates human driving ability and judgement (hopefully not any humans from Long Island*) and is operated by Google engineers in California. The car, a Toyota Prius, is being tested in Nevada, where it — meaning, the car — has just been issued an official drivers license. The driverless car has a drivers license. A car got a drivers license before we even got to drive a flying car. Life is so unfair. Stupid science.

Star Wars Chick Kristen Andrews has blessed us all with a new video of her pug, Chubbs, dressed up like a Hoth Wampa. But this time, there is a storyline and action figures involved, and Luke Skywalker had better watch himself in the icy Hoth tundras … that look a lot like Nevada. We should all be lucky enough to have such an adaptable and easygoing dog.
