J.J. Abrams Has Promised Us Sexiness in Star Trek Into Darkness

And not just the sexiness inherent in having a really, really, ridiculously good-looking cast. No. The term “various moments of … undress” was stated.

But first he had some things to say about the sexiness of Trek as a franchise. Bow-chicka-bow-wow.

Star Trek‘s Gates McFadden Has a Tumblr Full of Pictures of Her Action Figure Doing Stuff

Thanks to her “space son,” Wil Wheaton, the internet is now privy to the fact that the Ensemble Studio Theatre of Los Angeles’ Tumblr is, so far, entirely populated by cute pictures of a 1/8 size action figure of Dr. Beverly Crusher, Gates McFadden‘s character on Star Trek: The Next Generation. McFadden has been artistic director of the theater since 2008, but here’s what her action figure gets up to while she’s on the job.

Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Crusher Family Reunites For Adorable Photo Op

Not that they haven’t seen each other often since their time on Star Trek: The Next Generation but it was delightful to see Wil Wheaton and his fictional mother, Gates McFadden, take a “family” photo the other day at MegaCon. He lovingly refers to her as his “space mom” which is even more adorable.

10 Awesome Things That Happened at the Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Reunion

In 1987, Star Trek re-launched the franchise with a whole new series, Star Trek: The Next Generation. Not only did TNG show us the next generation of characters in the Star Trek saga, it brought in the next generation of Star Trek fans who would grow up with the series. I was just a little kid sitting on the couch between my original-Trekker parents when the show premiered. Here are some of the best moments from the reunion.

Next Generation Blooper Reel Contains At Least One Incident of Captain Picard Walking Into a Door

A set of .gifs ripped from this video have been floating around my Tumblr dash lately, so I’m glad the actual video has now surfaced and I can share it with you. As one friend pointed out to me, flubbed lines and bloopers present a little bit less frustration nowadays with digital filming. In the days of Next Gen, however, each one represented not just some extra time to film the scene, but a tiny bit of wasted, expensive film stock. That might help explain how when you hear the behind the camera crew chime in, they’re not quite as amused.

You’ll Never Hit 88 Miles Per Hour In This DeLorean Taxi

It’s true that New York taxis usually drive like maniacs but it’s pretty difficult to get up to 88 mph in Manhattan. Unless you’ve got a hover conversion, of course. Unfortunately, this isn’t real. Mike Lubrano imagined what a Back to the Future taxi would look like for a NYC fashion house called Nooka. Hit the jump to see it with the doors open.
