Which Actress Would Bryan Fuller Want to Captain His Hypothetical Star Trek Series?

“I would love to do something on the Reliant. I want Angela Lansbury … Not Lansbury! I want Angela Bassett to be the captain, that’s who I would love to have, you know Captain Angela Bassett and First Officer Rosario Dawson. I would love to do that version of the show and but that’s in the future to be told.”Bryan Fuller on whom he and Bryan Singer would cast in a new Star Trek series, if they made one.

Don’t get your hopes up, though. He also said them doing a series is “basically wishful thinking. We both would love to do a Star Trek series, and I think Star Trek is in J.J. Abrams’ purview as it should be, because I loved Star Trek, the movie, and I’m looking forward to the next one. Once again, I would love to revisit that world because I found it so creatively fulfilling but I think that’s under his guard, and if it ever came up I would jump on the opportunity.”

I just wanted to leave you with the mental image of a Star Trek series ruled over by Angela Bassett and Rosario Dawson. (And one starring Angela Lansbury, for that matter.) Can you blame me?

Lee Pace And His Eyebrows Will Probably Be the Villain in Guardians of the Galaxy

Back in the early days of Guardians of the Galaxy casting, when everybody and their brother was rumored to be up for the role of Star-Lord, Lee Pace was one of the actors who definitely auditioned for the part. Though the role eventually went to Chris Pratt, director James Gunn must’ve really liked Pace (as he should), because now the actor is reportedly in “final negotiations” to play the villain.

To get exceedingly superficial for a moment: Tom Hiddleston, you might be getting some competition in the Most Attractive Marvel Villain department.

Might Pushing Daisies Get a Kickstarter-Funded Touch of Life?

The massive success of the Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign—it’s raised $3.57 million and counting—has caused the creators of some other dear departed shows to perk up their heads and consider a fan-funded revival. One of those? Bryan Fuller, who’s expressed interest in doing a Pushing Daisies movie.

To quote the great Olive Snook: Jiminy krispies!

Jem’s Holograms Get New Collectible Dolls From Hasbro

When we first posted the new collectible Jem dolls from Hasbro and Integrity Toys, many (myself included) wondered when we’d see Shana, Aja, and Kimber. The wait is over, Series 2 features Jem’s Holograms in all their bright-haired glory! I am now hotly anticipating Series 3, which I can only guess will be the evil band and Jem adversaries, The Misfits. I wonder what Christy Marx, Jem creator and current DC Comics writer, thinks of the comeback?

We’re getting a surprising amount of information about the plot of the upcoming Johnny Depp-starring sci-fi flick Transcendence, considering it’s executive produced by the notoriously secretive Christopher Nolan and directed by Wally Pfister, a frequent collaborator of his. But courtesy of The Wrap, we now have a basic plot for the film… and it looks awesome.

Beware: If you consider basic plot information for a film that may undergo substantial revisions by the time it makes its way to your eyeballs spoilers, don’t click the jump, as they are unmarked. You’ve been warned.
