Here’s GLaDOS, in That Video Game Where GLaDOS is a Poker Dealer for Fictional Celebrities

If you were unaware of the franchise, Telltale games makes Poker Night at the Inventory, and now a series where the player is set against a cast of four fictional characters for some way more interesting computer poker than usual. The characters are usually from all sorts of media, games, movies, and comics, complete with appropriate voice acting where possible. The first games tarred Tycho, Max, the Heavy, and Strong Bad. Now? Brock Sampson, Claptrap, Ash, and Sam. With everybody’s favorite homicidal robot queen as dealer. And chief officer of sass.

New Pacific Rim Photo Implies Very Large Foot

This new production photo from Guilllermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim reminds me of a quote from Isaac Newton.

I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the giant, alien monster seeking to destroy all humanity marched landwards undiscovered before me.

Or anyway, it went something like that.

All Portal Fans Need To Watch this Turret Anthem Right Now

This is the story of a little turret with big dreams of doing a big solo in a massive turret symphony; and how all his friends, yes, even the Frankenturrets and Turret Bride, helped make it happen. I’ll just be over here, cutting onions.

Which Robot on This Illustrated Timeline Is Your Favorite?

OK, so this illustrated timeline of fictional robots [and androids] isn’t perfect. Daleks aren’t technically robots, for one, so as far as Doctor Who is concerned the Cybermen might have been a better inclusion. (But are Cybermen technically robots if they have human brains? Discuss amongst yourselves.)

But I like it. And if there’s an image that includes R2-D2 and C-3PO, the Iron Giant, the Mariabot from Metropolis, Marvin the Paranoid Android, and The Muppets‘ 80s Robot, would you honestly expect me not to share it with you?

The entire (huge) image, by Taryn Wellman, is after the jump.

The First Trailer For Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim With A Portal Cameo From GLaDOS?

We’ve been seeing some viral marketing for director Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming Pacific Rim but the trailer is finally here. And yes, there are some pretty cool alien monster things and giant robots but forget about all that. I just heard Ellen McLain, the voice of Portal’s GLaDOS in here!!! Also, a little bit of Idris Elba time. But…GLaDOS!!! McLain isn’t listed on the Pacific Rim IMDB page, but del Toro is a professed Valve fan, and you can’t mistake that voice. Ok, enough, just watch it for yourself.
