It’s October 28th already, and you don’t have a Halloween costume. But worry not, because we’ve got your back.

We were too busy doing our panel to record our panel at New York Comic Con this weekend, so we reached out to a friend of the blog (this isn’t the first time he’s written for us, but, well, it’s been a while) to provide us with recap. So if you weren’t there, here’s what happened! Buh-gow!
This past weekend, The Mary Sue hosted its first-ever panel discussion; in it, a group of six fans and creators talked about diversity in media, finding a character you can identify with, and what makes the X-Men so fabulous.READ MORE

We’d love to throw the world a party, but the cleanup would really get us down. So if you couldn’t make it to our New York Comic Con meetup, greetup, hang around and chatup last night, we’ve collected as many pictures of it as we can find right here. Many thanks to everybody who came, our valiant coworkers who helped set everything up and make sure it ran as smoothly as we could manage on about three days notice, and of course the folks at WeLoveFine.com, BBC Home Entertainment, Quirk Books, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and Dan Slott, who all offered an incredibly generous amount of prizes for our raffle.READ MORE

We’re busy folks at The Mary Sue, and we get out to cons outside of our hometown area once in a blue moon. But about a month from now, one of those blue moons is rising, and I, your faithful managing editor, will be moderating a panel at the first Comic Book City con in Greensboro, North Carolina. So, if Greensboro, North Carolina is in your hometown area, you should come and checkout the con. It might be a long time before we’re so close to you again!
You can find everything you need to know at Comic Book City’s official website.READ MORE

Description: It’s that time again! The Mary Sue seeks a kick-ass editorial intern. This is a no coffee-and-errands internship; our interns spend 90% of their time writing and most definitely receive bylines for all of their stories.
“But what will I do as an intern?” you ask, wringing your hands in anticipation, or possibly consternation. You’ll join us in our offices, write, look at
Google Reader an RSS reader of your choice, write, write some more, learn to be a Real Live Blogger, etc.. “How can I get this wonderful gig?” you ululate, collapsing to the floor in paroxysms of excitement, perhaps foaming at the mouth for a bit of effect. It’s pretty simple.

We wish you all could have come to our screening of Violet & Daisy, but we would have needed a lot more candy. And I say that with a tongue that’s still a little sore from sugar overload! But since not all of you were there, maybe you’d like to see pictures of it? Because it was awesome.READ MORE

Two years ago last night I hit the hay early, knowing that there wasn’t anything constructive that I could do for the soon to be live website that me and Jamie Frevele had been slaving over for a straight two weeks, and that I’d have a long day ahead of me. That long day was followed by a lot more, and now it’s been a spectacular two years since we launched. We quite literally would not be here without you guys.
Lemme take a look at what’s happened since our last birthday…READ MORE
