Sadly, no, but it’s so close we can taste it! Halle Berry’s hair has gotten progressively shorter each time she’s played Storm, so maybe next time? Of note here though, this new costume looks somewhat apocalypse-y. What say you?

This story is very relavent to my interests considering I just started a rewatch of Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and have been re-lamenting its early demise. With the huge success of the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter, everyone is wondering which fan-favorite will be next to get a new lease on life. Could TSCC be one of them?

The ongoing saga to bring Stephen King’s The Dark Tower to the big (or small) screen seems to be taking as long as the series itself took to play out but it’s just hit a brick wall. Warner Bros. has completely passed on the project. So is that it for gunslinger Roland Deschain? Hit the jump to find out.

Already headed for seven weeks of reshoots, World War Z is still nowhere near ready for post-production. In fact, the part of the movie that wouldn’t even allow the movie to exist — the screenplay — is getting another pass by Damon Lindelof. Rewrites are not strange. Rewrites after a movie has been shot are definitely troubling. What in the world is so wrong with this movie that they’re bringing in the Lost (and Prometheus) writer in at this stage of the game?

You may have heard that G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which was set to premiere a little over a month from now on June 29, was suddenly pushed back to March 29, 2013. Even after Paramount had already started advertising it, and not subtly. As in, there were commercials on TV, during the Super Bowl, and posters outdoors, and Hasbro already had the toys on the shelves. Paramount’s stated reason? They were going to add 3D effects to it. But the real reason? Well, imagine you have this party to attend, but you had a huge zit on your chin, and you popped it, and it’s a big hot mess. Now, imagine that zit is Channing Tatum, and the party is G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

We’ve been bringing you very interesting movie news all day today, and the afternoon hours have not disappointed us. Why? Because production on the much-maligned whitewashed remake of Akira has been put on hold. While the higher-ups reconsider the budget (and try to cut $20 million out of it), production offices in Vancouver are sending their employees home and being told to “stop working.” Is it the end? Maybe not. But is the universe trying to send some sort of signal to Warner Bros.? We’d like to think so.

I’ll admit, I actually take enjoyment from Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. Not the same kind I take from Tim Burton’s Batman films or the Christopher Nolan ones but enjoyment nonetheless. But even I cannot handle this news. Joel Schumacher, director of the most hated Batman movies of all time, has revealed he had another in the works called Batman: Triumphant. And it was going to star Nicolas Cage. BRB, I feel compelled to shower.

Marvel has been in the pre-production phase for a film adaptation of its title Runaways, about a group of teens who find out that not only are their parents part of a criminal group called the Pride, but that they also have various super powers. It was going to be a much smaller production than the typical Marvel movie, but now that The Avengers is set to take over next summer, Runaways is going to have to take a backseat. However, no one is saying it’s been canceled, so hopes springs eternal that production can begin post-Avengers.

Much talk has been circulating over the sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek, which will reportedly be in theaters around December 2012. The last film featured a cameo by Leonard Nimoy, who reprised his legendary role as Spock. Over the weekend, however, William Shatner, who famously swaggered alongside Nimoy as Captain Kirk, confirmed that he will not be making an appearance in Star Trek 2.
