Peter Jackson steps into the fray once more in order to have enough scenes for three complete Hobbit films. Can it be done?

I Found the Horse and the Rider, and the Horn that Was Blowing: They’re in This To-Scale Lego Helms Deep

I dare not go a hunting, for fear of little men. Or at least stepping on little men. Yeeowch.

Watch Willie Nelson Audition for Gandalf in “The Hobbit 2” [VIDEO]

“You can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy,” says country music legend Willie Nelson to Peter Jackson in this audition tape. “He’s a good actor, but hell, I’m Willie Nelson.”

He has a point there, Peej.

The Release Date for the Third Hobbit Movie Is Pushed Back Five Months to When It Should Have Been in the First Place

Bilbo Baggins will be doing the “back again” part of There and Back Again a bit later than previously thought, as Warner Bros. has pushed the release date for the third movie in the Hobbit trilogy back by five months.

The Tolkien Family Refuses to Let An Unauthorized Biography Pass

Guys, it’s been at least a few weeks since the Tolkien estate got into a copyright dispute with someone. The lucky person this time around is Daniel Grotta, author of J.R.R. Tolkien: Architect of Middle-earth, the very first biography of the legendary author.

The book was first published in 1976, and now Grotta wants to release an updated e-book edition (for free). But he can’t. Because the Tolkien estate’s lawyers are standing in the wings, slapping rolled-up lawsuits against their palms while backup dancers finger-snap menacingly behind them.

Middle Earth Public Service Announcements Want Everyone to Admit that “Elevenses” Is Just Brunch

But what do you call brunch with $18 all-you-can-drink-mimosas in Middle Earth? I’m asking for… a friend. Dorkly put together a bunch of Lord of the Rings themed PSAs, and every one of them is vital information for your every day life. We’ve put five here, but if you want to see the rest, you’ll have to visit them here.

Jennifer Lawrence was Galadriel on Saturday Night Live [VIDEO]

There was an obligatory The Hunger Games sketch on the Jennifer Lawrence-hosted Saturday Night Live last night, but in terms of the lulz I prefer the Hobbit sketch based on the premise that Peter Jackson splits up the remaining two movies into nine films apiece. I loved An Unexpected Journey, but I’m not sure I’d watch Hobbit 2: Journey to the Beginning of the Walk to Smaug’s Lair. I’d definitely be up for The Hobbit 11: Trying to Split a Complicated Dinner Bill, though. Lawrence as Galadriel is hilarious.

For even more JLaw, the Hunger Games sketch is behind the jump.

Black Milk Unveils New Middle Earth-Inspired Clothing Line

This Tuesday Black Milk is releasing their new Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit clothing line, but for those who want to A) covet and/or B) dislike the collection a few days in advance, we have some pictures for you.

I like some of them, the Gandalf leggings and Middle Earth map dress (or, as I would wear it, the Middle Earth map really long sleeveless shirt) in particular. I wish there were an Eowyn dress, though. I mean, Black Milk is a bit too expensive for me even to splurge on, but it would make me feel better about the world to know a dress with this (or even this, I’m not picky) on it existed.

Check out more pics after the jump.

Good Morning, Here are Six Dwarves and a New Zealand Band

The Wellington-based three-person band Claude Rains (not the Casablanca actor) posted this video for their song “You Say” this summer, but somehow it escaped our notice. Their special guest stars are, in order of appearance, James Nesbitt, Graham McTavish, Adam Brown, Jed Brophy, Stephen Hunter, and Mark Hadlow. Or to put it another way, Bofur, Dwalin, Ori, Nori, Bombur, and Dori. Enjoy!

The Hobbit’s Misty Mountains, Acappella, By One Man [VIDEO]

Peter Hollens, who we’ve previously seen collaborating with violinist Lindsey Stirling, is here now by himself (technically) to sing The Misty Mountain song from The Hobbit. I say technically because this is one of those videos where one very talented person puts themselves on every track to create a particular song. The only thing lacking is a fake beard.
