The Muppets have been about recontextualizing and regurgitating unrelated pop culture since their inception, and the Disney blog’s collection (on the occasion of their new movie) is an excellent look at just how long they’ve been at it. We’ve brought a few over here for you to look at, but for all of them, go straight to the source.READ MORE

The first trailer for the Annie remake comes out tomorrow (tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow), but if you’re dying to see (and hear) Quvenzhané Wallis as the curly-haired protag before then, we have a little something for you courtesy of Entertainment Tonight.

Look. There’s no additional context you need here. You don’t need to know that the Muppets are ramping up publicity for Muppets Most Wanted. All the info you need is that they’ve been posting selfies to Instagram. That’s it.
And that the Muppets are real, and that there’s no one else involved in these images, of course.READ MORE

“Is that the Tower of Barad-Dur?” my boss asked after I showed her this video. A common mistake, but no, this is a sheng, an ancient Chinese instrument whose existence was unknown to me until ten minutes ago. I would like to petition for more sheng-based video game soundtracks.READ MORE
