She’s nine years old, she has pink hair, and she loves Justin Bieber. But don’t let that fool you into thinking Caitlin Kelley isn’t into something a little more badass. Kelley, who lives in Tampa, Florida, is actually a very accomplished competitive MMA fighter who pounds a punching bag with her bare hands. If she could, she’d train every single day, but when would she have time to do her homework? Something tells me she’d squeeze it in somehow.

The girl playing the titular star of Kimberly Peirce‘s Carrie remake, Chloe Moretz, has provided a little insight into how she’s approaching her new, iconic role. One part of her research: not conducting any research, just diving right into Carrie’s head. She’s also saying that her version of Carrie White will head to an even deeper, darker, mentally-unstable place, similar to where Natalie Portman headed in the psycho-thriller Black Swan. And cue all the guys hoping that Moretz will share a lady love scene with Mila Kunis.

But seriously, this Carrie might be even more screwed up than the original.

I made sure to put a no spoilers guarantee up here, since the early secret showings have shown, and the internet seems really interested in making me watch videos of Iron Man fighting Thor and Tony Stark verbally sparring with Loki, and I am firmly saying no until I can actually see the entire movie in two and a half weeks.

And that’s why I like this video. Because it has everything to do with the Whedonverse, and almost nothing to do with The Avengers.

And to think we spent the entire day working yesterday without realizing: Joss Whedon was simultaneously doing an Ask Me Anything post on Reddit, letting Redditors of all kinds ask him questions and answering most of them. With The Cabin in the Woods out this weekend, The Avengers in less than a month, Much Ado About Nothing and In Your Eyes also coming out this year, there’s no question of whether Whedon might be looking for a little publicity for his projects.

After making her professional debut last March, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey has now earned herself a Strikeforce title — in a matter of seconds. The prize money was also a nice bonus, considering her only reward for her amateur victories was, well, victory. And while she’s enjoying her rapid rise to the top of the women’s division of the sport and becoming better and better at what she does, she’s also finding herself in a role model position for other girls who might want to give athletics a try. But don’t go calling her the new face of women’s MMA just yet — Ronda Rousey kicks ass in the name of teamwork!

It’s not very often that a trailer for something makes you completely rethink the movie it’s advertising. We’ll admit, we were a little wary of Snow White and the Huntsman at first, especially when Kristen Stewart was cast as this apparent “warrior” Snow White. But wow. Kristen Stewart is a warrior Snow White. And Charlize Theron is a terrifying evil queen. Terrifying. The trailer, after the jump.

Mirror Mirror may be hitting theaters first but the Snow White film I’m most excited for is Snow White and the Huntsman from director Rupert Sanders. We’ll be seeing a new trailer for the Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron movie next week apparently, but until then, we’ve got four behind-the-scenes featurettes to keep you satisfied.

The headline speaks for itself: Two Texas Girl Scouts, Iravia Cotton and Rachel Johnson, chased down a horrible person who stole $200 of Girl Scout cookie money from their booth. Iravia punched the guy in the face. Rachel grabbed on to the guy’s car and was dragged as he drove away. You might be wondering if they’re okay, and I kind of think they’ve proven they can take care of themselves. Man, the things girls need to do to earn badges these days!

We knew this already, but Gina Carano is not the only woman with MMA cred whose story we’re following. Allow us to introduce you to Amanda Lucas — a professional MMA fighter who just yesterday battled it out for Deep 57‘s openweight title, and the daughter of George Lucas, who made some space movies or something. Though while her family is famous, it’s her fight that’s gotten her recognition lately. Come inside! We’ll talk about how much ass Amanda Lucas kicks!

Well, after a post about superhero vaginas, we couldn’t leave the guys out, so here’s three videos from this weekend’s Sci-Fi Expo in Dallas, where four members of the cast of Firefly gathered to answer fan questions about the brilliant and abruptly cancelled series. Some embarrassment occurred after a fan mispronounced the name of Alan Tudyk (Wash), who was not actually present.
