Snow White and the Huntsman May Be Getting A Sequel From The Guy Who Wrote Jurassic Park

Snow White and the Huntsman hasn’t hit theaters yet but like many movies these days, studios feel so confident about their product they’re willing to move ahead with a sequel before box office numbers are in. So is the case of highly-anticipated Snow White adaptation starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth. They’ve already chosen a screenwriter and we’re not sure which is cooler, the fact that he wrote 2002′s Spider-Man, or the fact that he wrote Jurassic Park.

Rare Footage Of Steven Spielberg Directing Jurassic Park

If you’re as big a fanatic about Jurassic Park as we are at The Mary Sue, prepare to totally geek out. This is nearly eight minutes of director Steven Spielberg working on the set of the film. The video says it came from a press kit that was sent out prior to the release of the movie in 1993 and is the type of footage rarely released, especially these days. SlashFilm writes, “Most of the footage is taken outside of the Jurassic Park Visitor’s Center and the first moments when the characters arrive on the island.” And the kids, oh my god, the kids! My heart just grew ten sizes. Enjoy!

Ever Wanted to Hear About Dinosaurs? Ever Wanted to Hear an Autotuned T-Rex?

Symphony of Science has a new video/remix out and it’s all about everybody’s favorite subject: dinosaurs! More than that, it features Alice Roberts, osteoarchaeologist (where she studies of ancient bones), anthropologist (where she studies ancient people), paleopathologist (where she studies ancient diseases) and professor of anatomy. She’s been featured on BBC programs many times as an expert in early human origins, early human archeological sites, and pretty much anything involving old bones (even the Burke and Hare murders).

Jurassic Park Will Return to Theaters in 2013

There’s been quite few rumors floating around, ever since the movie was re-released to theaters in the UK in honor of the Blu-ray release, that Jurassic Park would be getting a 3D makeover and then a celebratory release to theaters, just like Disney has been doing with a lot of it’s classics. As of yesterday evening, it’s official.

Universal has placed Jurassic Park in 3D on its schedule for 2013.

Virginia State Senator Janet Howell Suggests a Rectal Exam Amendment to a Horrible Abortion Bill

Gina Carano Kicked A Lot of Butts For Haywire

Despite favorable reviews, the homage to 70′s spy films peppered with more modern, brutal fight sequences Haywire hasn’t exactly been raking in the box office funds. I admit myself to being skeptical of it at first: the fact that the trailers reveal no female characters other than Gina Carano‘s Mallory made it seem a bit “we stuck a lady in!” gimmicky instead of an general on putting women in well-rounded roles (whether the hero or not) in action movies. Now, I’m usually in favor of such kinds of gimmickry when it comes from the right motivation, and director Steven Soderbergh maintains that it does. His whole motivation for Haywire was the question “Why are we only making starring female action heroes if Angelina Jolie is involved?”
