Forget Secrecy: Joss Whedon Casually, 100% Confirms Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver for The Avengers 2

Unlike some filmmakers we could mention *cough*nolanandabrams*cough*, Joss Whedon is willing to just drop something pretty big and interesting about a project that isn’t due to hit theaters for two years yet. I’m not saying there isn’t room for more than one way to talk about your movie while it’s in production, I’m just saying…

I’m just saying it’s exciting to hear that we’re getting at least two female superheroes in The Avengers 2.

Hayley Atwell Confirms: The Next Marvel Short is About Peggy Carter

Hayley Atwell says Peggy Carter can do “everything Captain America can do but backwards, in high heels,” and we’ll get to see exactly what happened to her after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. Or we will if we manage to get into that big hall at Marvel Entertainment’s San Diego Comic Con presentation this summer. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait until the DVD release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So… that’s a really long time.

Official Agents Of SHIELD Cast Photos

Yesterday we showed you snazzy ID badges from ABC’s Agents of SHIELD. Today, along with news of an official timeslot for the Joss Whedon series, comes promotional photos of the cast (including a bonus Whedon shot). The network has decided to air SHIELD on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m., right before another new series, this fall. Check out these official images of the cast.

Disney Has its First Animated Movie Featuring Marvel Characters: Big Hero 6

I know what you’re thinking: Who the heck is Big Hero 6? Well, it’s not who is, it’s who are, and if you’re not thinking this and know who Big Hero 6 are, congratulations, you probably love comics. Like, a lot.

Big Hero 6 are a misfit superhero team of teens, robots, robot-dragons and weirdos who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1998, and now they’re going to be the first Marvel characters to get a film animated by Disney Studios.

Robert Redford Just Commited the First Sin of Being in a Superhero Movie: You Don’t Talk About Your Superhero Movie

Robert Redford is, as he admits himself, delving into a new arena of filmmaking with a role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The world of genre movies, in a massive cinema franchise, and a sequel. So far what we know about Redford’s role is that he’s an officer of S.H.I.E.L.D., and possibly one that outranks Nick Fury.

But Redford may have let slip something a bit more specific about his character in an interview recently. It’s also a possible spoiler. Awww, it’s Baby’s First Movie With An Obsessive and Detail Oriented Fanbase!

The Iron Man Trilogy, Remixed [VIDEO]

I’m in something of an Iron Man-y mood after having seen Iron Man 3 last night (my review: ASDFGHJKJHGFDS), so this video remix by Mike Relm, made using footage from all three movie and Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” (natch), really hit the spot. If you haven’t seen it yet (let’s have a moment of silence for Poland, where it’s not released ’til May 9th), the Iron Man 3 footage Relm uses is all from the trailers or previously released promo clips, so there’s nothing too spoilery.

Could Chronicle‘s Michael B. Jordan Be the New Johnny Storm?

On the heels of yesterday’s news that Allison Williams might be up for an unspecified role in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, another F4 rumor has crossed our path, this one a wee bit more interesting. It’s still 100% unofficial, but The Wrap is reporting that Chronicle‘s Michael B. Jordan is in contention to play Johnny Storm, a.k.a. the Human Torch.
