Good Morning, Here’s Arnold Schwarzenegger Gleefully Crushing Things With a Tank

Before you roll your eyes about viral stunts, let me cut out the suspense for you: it’s a viral stunt for charity. Donate to the After-School All-Stars, a non-profit that provides after school programming for low income children, and you’l be entered for a chance to be flown out to LA to riding in a tank with Arnold Schwarzenegger and crush various objects (all while, no doubt, filming another video).

Silly? Quite. But it’s hard not to be transported by how engaged the Governator is in the enterprise.

Disney Characters Haunted By The Shadows Of Their Villains

Joe Alexander has created some striking minimalist images of Disney’s good and bad guys. The good guys get the spotlight, as usual, but it’s interesting to see how many villains have an iconic silhouette.

Thor 3 Definitely Gets a Writer, The Avengers: Age of Ultron Maybe Gets a New Actress

First, the definite news: Craig Kyle will be teaming up with Thor: The Dark World co-writer Christopher Yost for the third Thor movie, Loki: The Reckoning (probably).

And then a detour into Rumorville: There’s an actress who might be playing a doctor partner of Tony Stark’s, or maybe a villain, or maybe both. Every time someone says “female villain” my ears perk up. Make it so.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland Promo Shows Us The White Rabbit

I had already been looking forward to ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland for a while (being a longtime Alice fan). The full trailer gave me hope we’d get a really great heroine out of the spin-off, and subsequent interviews confirmed she would indeed be getting into some action, but here’s a quick bit of proof. This is also the first I’ve seen of Lost’s Naveen Andrews as Jafar and our new White Rabbit.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland’s Alice Will Kick Ass (Sweet!)

We still hate the title of ABC’s Once Upon a Time spinoff, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (hereby Wonderland), but that doesn’t mean we aren’t excited to see another cool take on Alice.

Youtube Channel Goes On A Rogue Countdown, Theories Fly. What the Frak?

Time for your daily dose of conspiracy theory weirdness: on July 9, the innocuous Youtube channel “Pronunciation Book” (which features videos about how to pronounce English words like “jojoba” and “Herobrine”, presumably for the edification of people who [are learning to] speak English) began posting a series of daily videos that are counting down from 77. The audio of each video does not correspond with a pronunciation of the number it is featuring. Each video ends with the voice saying: “Something is going to happen in [number] days.” As of today, the countdown is at 63.

What the heck is going on here? Is this the craziest three-year-old guerilla marketing campaign ever? Why are rumors flying about Battlestar Galactica‘s possible involvement? Go under the cut for speculation, and beware the Battlestar Galactica spoilers!

Be Frabjous and Frumious In An Alice In Wonderland Bathing Suit

Black Milk is now selling these two bathing suits based on book illustrations from Lewis Carroll‘s Alice in Wonderland*. You can check out the second under the jump.

*Yes, I know Jabberwocky, as referenced in the headline, is from Through the Looking-Glass, not Alice in Wonderland. But I saw the chance to use “frabjous” in a headline, and I took it, dag nabbit.

Amelia Pond in Wonderland: Where The Doctor Is The Cheshire Cat

The 11th Doctor is the impossibly grinning Cheshire cat in artist James Hance’s new “Like A Name In a Fairy Tale” mashup illustration.  Come to think of it, entering the TARDIS is like falling down the rabbit hole, complete with surroundings that change size around you!  But who does this make Rory?

Too Lazy To Turn A Page? Read Classic Novels On A Poster Instead!

Spineless Classics (awesome name, btw) sells posters with entire novels printed on them. But can you actually read them if so inclined? “Hard as it may be to believe, each one of our designs contains the full text of the book. Where there are shapes in the design, the words wrap to the edges rather than being removed or shaded,” they write. “The apparent font size is roughly 4 point which is perfectly legible with the naked eye if you have 20/20 vision, or with light magnification if you don’t.” Check out what books like Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Dracula, and more look like when laid out flat.
