Sorry, Paul Rudd, Antboy Beat You To The Adorable Superhero Movie Punch [VIDEO]

Seriously, what are the odds Paul Rudd will look this adorable in his Ant-Man movie costume? The synopsis for this directed film is as follows, “Twelve-year-old Pelle leads a dreadfully dull life in his small Danish town, until a bite from a very special ant endows him with incredible powers. With the aid of his nerdy, comic book-obsessed classmate Wilhelm, he adopts the cape and cowl of a new, headline-grabbing superhero: Antboy! But, as Pelle soon discovers, with great power comes great responsibility — and when a villain named Flea begins to terrorize his town, he must mature into a new and extraordinary role. Will he realize in time that sometimes your uniqueness is your greatest strength?” In theaters this weekend!

Commercial Featuring Creepy Baby Spider-Man is Selling What?

The idea of the year 2018 is pretty surreal, isn’t it? That’s when The Amazing Spider-Man IV is slated to come out… for now. Producer Matt Tolmach told Den of Geek that the release date might not be as set in stone, and that the May 4th, 2018 spot might go to another film in the franchise. Waiting until 2019 for the ultimate film in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise? That’s surreal.

But admittedly nowhere near as surreal as this commercial for Evian of all things.

Puns, Villains, and Screaming Bryan Cranston In New Spider-Man, Godzilla Trailers [VIDEO]

The pun is in the final The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer, below the jump, and not the new international Godzilla poster, above. Which is a shame, because the latter’s screenwriters have really missed out on a chance to have a panicked civilian screaming “Oh my God… zilla!!” But I guess the Spider-Man movie with a director named “Webb” is the more fitting option for punnery.

Which Superhero Should Oscar-Winner Lupita Nyong’o Play?

Lupita Nyong’o is all anyone can talk about at the moment. And with good reason! She just took home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. And lest we forget, there are several comic book movie actors who are also Oscar winners. Artist Mark Brooks took the initiative and photoshopped Nyong’o to have that fantastic mohawk Storm look. And he’s not the only one thinking of casting the Academy Award-winner in a comic book role.

Also: A new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and confirmation that director Marc Webb will be returning to direct a third Spider-Movie. Hopefully he won’t pull a Raimi and turn in something completely awful. But even if he does… seriously, does anyone care about this series?

New Fantastic Four Movies To Feature Female Doctor Doom, Maybe

There are a few rumors churning about the casting of the new Fantastic Four movie that’s due out next summer, but one of the most interesting is the rumor that the filmmakers are looking at possibly casting an actress to play a female Doctor Doom rather than the character being male as portrayed in the comics. You can take that rumor with a grain of salt, though, as reports are pretty conflicted.  Everything we know so far is after the jump!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Discusses The Potential Of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman

We were surprised, but also kind of intrigued, when Joseph Gordon-Levitt announced he’d be working with David Goyer to bring Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman to the big screen. But that was pretty much where we left it. Thankfully, someone thought to press Gordon-Levitt for a few details.

Comics Publisher Image Announces New Titles At Image Expo

This Thursday marked the second annual Image Expo, held by comics publisher Image in their home city of San Francisco to promote their upcoming books. The event — a comics-star-studded extravaganza of signings and announcements — is the only one of its kind in comics publishing, as most publishers continue to use standard comic conventions or the press to announce their new projects. The good news is that there are a lot of awesome-sounding projects coming up. The bad news is that (unsurprisingly) diversity is still a problem in comics.
