Can’t Afford Those DC Bombshell Statues? How About A Nice Print?

We’ve fawned over DC Collectibles’ Bombshell line a few times and while we’d love to have all the lovely women adorning our shelves, that’s not financially feasible (or sound, if you own cats). Luckily, Quantum Mechanix has the perfect solution – prints!

Robot Chicken Season 7 Will Include A Second DC Comics Special, Plus A Cameo By George R.R. Martin

One of the many constants in this universe is that every pop culture franchise you love will eventually be ruined by Robot Chicken. Given the current prominence of comic book superheroes and Game of Thrones, respective skewerings were probably inevitable. Speaking with Zap2it, Robot Chicken co-creator Seth Green commented that as far as DC Comics goes, “There’s no real line we can’t cross.” Oh boy.

Picture of Ben McKenzie in Gotham Vastly Improved With Photoshopped Mustache

Pictures from Fox’s Gotham production have begun to surface, of a young Catwoman, the Penguin, and Harvey Bullock, and they all look pretty fine. Yes, every thing’s fine. Except James Gordon has neither a mustache nor glasses, and we can’t get over it. In a genre where we far more often distinguish characters by brightly colored costumes rather than by, say, drawing distinct faces, small distinctive features for the characters who don’t wear those costumes become pretty important. You can tell who Green Arrow is, for example, without the Van Dyke, but Commissioner Gordon without glasses and a brushstache is just some guy. It’s not going to stop us from checking out the show, but just take a look at this photoshop MTV’s Alex Zalben mocked up using, I assume, the mustache tool. 100% more Commissioner Gordon-y.

Fine, Gotham, save the mustache for when you have him grow it as a symbol of character development after a season finale.

Batman: Arkham Knight Video Game Details Reveal Oracle’s Expanded Role

Ready for more Batman? I know I always am. Putting personal preferences aside, Rocksteady is set for another installment of the Arkham franchise with Batman: Arkham Knight and as revealed a few details you might be interested in. For instance, the “Arkham Knight” is not Batman, but another fellow, whose picture is after the jump. Oh, and also Barbara Gordon/Oracle.

Superhero Origin Stories Are Less Tragic When Their Parents are Jerks

To be fair, Batman’s origin here doesn’t just have to do with the disposition of his father, but I think we’d also feel less bad for him if his parents were the sort of people you wouldn’t want to share a restaurant with.

Here’s an Amazing Teaser for a Nightwing Webseries Fans Made ‘Cause DC Can’t Get Its Sh*t Together [VIDEO]

You know if we did a little switcheroo and the Batfranchise fell under Marvel Studios’ purview, Nightwing would’ve had his own movie all the way back in 2011*. But, alas, it’s up to DC and Warner Bros., so it hasn’t happened yet. Ismahawk doesn’t like waiting.

*If Nightwing were a female, on the other hand…

A Simple, Elegant Redesign of Gotham’s Heroes And Villains

There’s so much to love about Perry Maple’s simplified Batman series. Poison Ivy’s dress. Batman’s face. Scarecrow’s lanky limbs. I want a feature-length film with these guys, complete with an orchestral soundtrack.

His “Ladies of Gotham” piece (first in the gallery here) is also available as a print, for those of you looking to class up your wall space.

Rocksteady Announces Triumphant Return to Arkham Franchise with Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer

After taking a year off from the franchise (Warner Bros. Games Montréal developed the less-well-received prequel game Batman: Arkham Origins) Rocksteady Studios has announced their final game in the Arkham trilogy, promising for the first time a drivable Batmobile and, for those who preorder, a playable Harley Quinn. I heartily look forward to it.

That said, I’m kind of curious as to why the unexpectedly dead Thomas Wayne’s Will cedes all of his earthly belongings to his son without allowing for the possibility that his wife will outlive him. Also, as a minor, Bruce’s inheritance will be under the control of whoever gains custody of him, anyway, so Thomas should really be setting up a Trust for him.

These are the things you think about when you were raised by an attorney who specializes in end of life decisions.
