The first spot is one you might start seeing in your local theater soon. It’s meant to be a look a real-world heroes but also features new footage from Man of Steel, including Superman and Lois flying together! The next video, after the jump, is a UK TV spot, also with a few bits of new footage.

We can debate how much non-superhero fans know about one of the world’s most famous superheroes but when surveying the general population, they’d probably be able to give you the gist of Superman. There are certain themes, plots, and characters central to what makes the character who he is, but if a recent magazine blurb is to be believed, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel has altered the 75-year-old DC Comics origin in a huge way.

I’m never going to be in the running for the biggest Zach Snyder fan in the world, but if there’s one thing the guy knows how to do is combine images and music to form compelling, aesthetically beautiful, riveting sequences. I mean that in the best way possible: movies are nothing if not sound and moving images, so he’s working from a pretty good foundation. Where I’ve found that he tends to break down is in his ability to tell A) a nuanced story with B) a clear message, hopefully the one he intended to say. And also this means that the trailers for his movies are fantastic. If the touch of the experienced Nolan storytelling machine that’s writing and producing here manages to overcome Snyder’s limitations in story, Man of Steel will be something to remember. Too bad there’s no way to tell based on these, yeah, riveting trailers.

The last time we got a good look at Antje Traue’s full costume in Man of Steel it was on an action figure. And the other day we got a tiny look at the top of this picture and some kind of weird Kryptonian head-hologram. But here’s Traue in Faora’s lovely full suit of armor.

I’m eye-rolling to the max at one of the descriptions on Entertainment Weekly’s new Man of Steel photos. They suggest one of the characters is the film’s “femme fatale.” I’ll give you two guesses because there are three women in the images- Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Antje Traue. All that plus power suits galore in these brand-new shots. Take a look.
