Jurassic Park Parody Highlights the Best of Humans Acting Like Dinosaurs [VIDEO]

Did you think that just because Jurassic Park 3D came out in theaters already we’d stop posting so much JP-related magnificence? Sorry, but that’s just not the case. YouTuber OfficialComedy has taken the scene where Grant and Sattler first see dinosaurs and replaced the dinosaurs with people acting like dinosaurs.

It’s enough to bring a tear to my eye.

These Folks Have a Lawn Dinosaur, and They Dress Him Up in Seasonally Appropriate Costumes

Today In Ridiculous Drinking: Velociraptor vs. Shark Whisky

I’m not a whiskey drinker but if I were, this is the kind I would drink. Says Ben of MasterOfMalt.com of the creation, “Now, for [distillery] Aultmore, I searched high and low, asked all and sundry for interesting stories, facts or legends surrounding the distillery and turned up precisely nothing. So you’ve got this. A Velociraptor fighting a shark.” Apparently the design is part of a series of limited edition whiskies with comic book style label art. As for the artist he said, “She’s a comic book artist based in Glasgow.” If anyone knows her name, let us know, she deserves a high-five. Edit: Success! The artist is Emily Chappell. President Obama Now Has a Prehistoric Lizard Named After Him

I love it when scientists are geeky with taxonomy. There was that time paleontologists named a dinosaur “Eye of Sauron.” (In Greek, of course.) There’s a wasp named after Lady Gaga. And now President Barack Obama has a species of his own, too: Obamadon gracilis, a small prehistoric lizard rendered extinct by the same asteroid strike widely thought to have killed the dinosaurs.

Why was the Obamadon named the Obamadon? Because of its teeth, of course.

Jurassic Park 3D Will Have Dinosaurs Jumping Out of the Screen at Your Face; Here’s the Trailer [VIDEO]

Full disclosure: I have an inherently negative reaction to older movies being converted into 3D. It’s a blatant money grab, and I won’t stand for it! But, judging by the trailer, I might actually want to see this one. Then again, the trailer itself isn’t in 3D, so my excitement probably springs from a love for Jurassic Park that goes all the way down to my bones. If I could spend $3 less and see Jurassic Park in 2D when its 3D version is released next April, I probably would. But maybe not. Maybe seeing Dennis Nedry taking dino venom to the face in an additional dimension is worth the 3D surcharge. Regardless, I’m still going to go. It’s Jurassic Park on the big screen. You have to see it. There are rules.

DIY Dinosaur-Heeled Shoes

About a month ago we posted this picture of a pair of pumps where the heel was a tyrannosaurus Rex, and did so with sadness. Because that blurry picture was all there was. There was no other evidence that the shoes actually existed or were available anywhere. Last week, however, Mike W. emailed us a link to his Instructables guide to making your own. While the components are cheap enough, it’s definitely still varsity level DIY (welding is involved).
