The True Blood Season 6 Trailer Is Here, Everyone Yell At Jason

I gotta say, my adoration of HBO’s True Blood has waned over the years but what keeps me coming back is their completely unapologetic ridiculousness.

Guillermo del Toro Is Working With A Doctor Who Writer to Adapt a Manga for HBO. So Much Geekiness In One Sentence.

I can’t even joke about Guillermo del Toro picking up tons of projects anymore. It’s too easy. The new addition to his slate is the manga Monster, which del Toro is TV show-ifying for HBO.

(Game of Thrones. A Guillermo del Toro-helmed manga adaptation. Dang, HBO. So geeky. Keep it up.)

The Official Trailer for the Carrie Reboot

I could have put in a warning about how this gives away the end of the movie, but then I remembered that the original movie is thirty-seven years old and is based on a novel that’s going on forty. There’s a statute of limitations on this kind of thing.

BioShock Infinite Gameplay Trailer Warns Against Drinking Random Liquids

The last two “trailers” we had for BioShock Infinite were more like something you might see from the Dharma Initiative. While they are seriously cool, and I hope to see more, it’s nice to see we’ve finally got a gameplay trailer. Anticipating this one?

NBC’s Dracula Casts Its Van Helsing

We’ve been keeping up with NBC’s Victorian London-set Dracula because… well, it looks like it could be interesting. Its supporting cast (Merlin‘s Katie McGrath, Game of Thrones‘s Nonso Anozie, Arrow‘s Jessica De Gouw) is delightfully geeky, too. And now that geek-friendly cast has two more members: Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Jonathan Harker and Thomas Kretschmann as legendary monster-hunter Abraham Van Helsing.

It’ll be a few years yet until I can read that name without shuddering. I blame you, Hugh Jackman.

The Walking Dead‘s Daryl Dixon Should Be In All the Super Bowl Commercials [VIDEO]

Apparently there’s some sort of major sporting event going on today. You know, the one that’s not the Puppy Bowl. Here’s the Walking Dead commercial playing during said game. The commercial’s actually for Time Warner and is just about The Walking Dead, but you know what? Daryl’s in it, so I don’t care.

Merlin and Game of Thrones Actors Join Arrow‘s Huntress on NBC’s Dracula

We previously learned that Jessica De Gouw, aka Arrow‘s Huntress, would be playing Mina Murray to Jonathan Rhys Meyers‘ Drac (or Alan Grayson in the show, because Dracula is an awfully conspicuous name) in NBC’s Victorian era-set Dracula. And now comes the news that the show’s gotten even more genre-tastic with the addition of two new cast members: Katie McGrath and Nonso Anozie.

Or Morgana from Merlin and Xaro Xhoan Daxos from Game of Thrones. This pleases me.
