It Is a Truth Universally Acknowledged That This Pride & Prejudice Proposal Is the Cutest Ever

Jane Austen fans, be prepared to swoon. Coming home one day Redditor ByTingo was greeted by the unusual sight of her sister, dressed in Regency-era garb, exclaiming that Netherfield had been let at last! What followed was was the lucky Austenite getting suited up as Lizzie Bennet to be led through scenes Pride and Prejudice, at the end of which her own Mr. Darcy popped the question. “I was an English lit major – he knew I love P&P and that I would be glad my family was involved,” explains ByTingo. “The important part was that it was personal to us!” Props to Darcy for his sentimentality and his common sense: “My favorite book is Les Miserables… but that would have been way too depressing for a proposal. He chose wisely.”

Benedict Jokerbatch And Other Non-Comic Book Actors as Comic Book Characters

Artist Alex Tuis has tapped into an alternate universe where Benedict Cumberbatch is the Joker and Naomie Harris is Storm. There are some other actors involved—Walken, Hauer, Schwarzenegger, Lee, Keitel—but I’ll be honest with you, the prospect of Harris using her mind to whip up a tornado is what I’m here for.

Disney Working on a Stage Version of The Princess Bride

You are correct, this is not a screencap from The Princess Bride. No, it’s from another piece of modern source material that parodied a very specific period in European writing and then was converted into a stage musical.

It’s just that no one spontaneously bursts into song in The Princess Bride like they do in Monty Python’s The Holy Grail, but that might very well change.

Leigh Lahav, she of the five stages of fangirl grief and the fangirl meeting, imagines what it would be like if some of the best (your mileage may vary) showrunners/writers in the biz were kidnapped, spirited away to a cabin, and forced to write the best show of all time.

Break out the tissues. Four-year-old Alyssa Brown made a very important wish at Snow White’s wishing well at Disneyland recently. INCONCEIVABLE! There’s Going To Be A Princess Bride Board Game

This is just concept art right now, the final design is TBD but Game Salute is currently developing a Princess Bride board game. They write, “In order to do justice to the entire story, The Princess Bride: The Board Game is comprised of individual scenes, with each scene presenting a mini-game that advances players through the central story.  This allows players looking for a quick, fun visit to a beloved classic to play a game that lasts under an hour, while players who want to experience the entire Princess Bride story in one sitting can enjoy an epic day of fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles.”

They also say they have the rights to create other types of games which could tie into the board game and are accepting ideas for scenes you’d like to have playable. The battle of wits has begun!
