I find it very, very interesting that a setting that gave us Ripley, one of the best female action heroes in horror or cinema, is also a setting where the robotic helpers of mankind are masculinized rather than feminized.

But maybe that’s just my academic preoccupation with how when we create robots with no actual sexual characteristics or functions, we very frequently give them a female gender, both in fiction and in real life.
