Cate Blanchett May Join the Cast of Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, But as Whom?

We love us some Cate Blanchett around here, so the chance that she might be joining the Marvel superhero movie train is hugely exciting! Well, it seems that the actress has her sights set on Asgard.

Blanchett is currently in final negotiations to join the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, which is set to arrive in the summer of 2017. The role she’d be playing, however, is unknown at this time. According to Variety, she’s “in talks to play one of the new female leads,” which could mean anything from newly-created (ie: not from the comics) to newly-added (ie: wasn’t in the Ragnarok script before, but now is). Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter says:

It is unclear what character Blanchett would play, but several sources say that Marvel has been on the hunt for a “bad-ass female.”

Well, obviously. I mean, what other type of female could Blanchett play? One fan has a very specific notion of what her role should be:

Not a bad idea! Whom do YOU think Blanchett should play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Tell us in the comments below!
