Disney and Ellen DeGeneres Adapting Children’s Book Castle Hangnail

Recommended Videos

Disney, who have optioned the movie rights for Ursula Vernon’s book, Castle Hangnail are working with producers Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman at A Very Good Producion on an adaptation. A Hugo-awarding winner writer, Vernon also created the Dragonbreath Series and the webcomic Digger.

Who doesn’t love a good story about a young witch? Castle Hangnail follows 12-year-old Molly, who becomes the mistress of Castle Hangnail, and old decrepit building in danger of being decommissioned by the Board of Magic. A decommission would cause the castle to lose its magic and the minions (a hypochondriac fish, a minotaur, etc.) to lose their home. Molly goes through a series of tasks and defend the castle, all while hiding a dangerous secret.

I’m looking forward to this, how about you?
