We Can't Have Nice Things

Here’s the First Footage from the Munsters Show From the Creators of Pushing Daisies

NBC’s spent quite a lot of money filming the pilot to Bryan Fuller‘s Munsters remake Mockingbird Lane, but is disinclined to pick up the show. The good news, however, is that they are going to show us the pilot! As, naturally, a Halloween special. This clip doubles as a promo for the airing, and our first look at any footage from the adaptation.

Ugh, I can see why its rumored this was $10 million down the drain.

Man, that looks like it would have made such a great series!

I think the show in the clip could turn out to be a really good show. It looks fun and clever.

    but,
I’m pretty sure that clip isn’t representing the show correctly. I’ve read numerous accounts on the show that describe it as a serious family drama, not really concerning itself that much with comedy.

Sure, the clip shows Eddie Izzard being all charismatic and stuff, but we’re probably not seeing footage of the kid angsting out at his parents because he doesn’t want to be a werewolf or something like that.

If the pilot follows the tone of the clip, then yeah, we may have missed out on a good series.

O’Connell isn’t the best actor but my inner Slider likes him and of course Izzard drew me in, but this trailer does nothing for me. Perhaps it is a great show, but that trailer isn’t a great trailer.

Of course… they are dumping it on a Friday. Definitely would have watched this. Eddie Izzard’s makeup is a bit iffy though.
