Black Panther Taps Michael B. Jordan to Join the Cast, Possibly As the Villain

Recommended Videos

Just in case you weren’t already excited enough about Marvel’s Black Panther movie, Michael B. Jordan of Creed fame has just signed on to join the cast. Between Chadwick Boseman charming the world with his performance as T’Challa in his Captain America: Civil War debut, and the news that Lupita Nyong’o is in negotiations to join the Black Panther cast as T’Challa’s love interest, it’s an exciting time to be a Black Panther fan. (And that’s not even factoring in Marvel’s stellar new title series about the character!)

Since Black Panther will be helmed by Ryan Coogler, who directed Creed, it makes sense that Michael B. Jordan would end up in consideration for a role. The pair have already worked together on Fruitvale Station; Black Panther will mark their third time teaming up on a project. An anonymous source told the Hollywood Reporter that Jordan will be playing the role of the villain.

So, who’s ready for some Fantastic Four jokes? Michael B. Jordan’s in good company by leaving FF behind in favor of the MCU; he has Chris Evans to keep him company. Seems like anybody who plays the Human Torch also receives the gift of a second chance. Here’s hoping that Jordan’s next run at a Marvel character will be a more successful one!

Any guesses as to which role Jordan might play?
