This may have just gotten me to start watching Gotham: BD Wong has just been signed on to play Hugo Strange, the sinister head of Arkham Asylum and one of Batman’s first villains. It’ll be interesting to see how Strange fits into the ecosystem, especially in a season that’s seemingly focused on the good ol’ Rogues Gallery.
According to USA Today, Strange will be introduced as someone who’s hired to run Arkham Asylum, in keeping with the comic book character’s backstory. But as the show progresses, it’s revealed that he’s the one running Indian Hill, the Wayne Enterprises venture into creating superhumans.
The Jurassic World alum has already spoken pretty frankly about how he wishes his dinosaur scientist character, Dr. Henry Wu, would kick the bucket already. Could this is a signal that Dr. Wu might bite the dust sometime soon? No idea. Either way, it’s exciting to see BD Wong back on the screen and not as a psych on Law & Order: SVU …
… wait a second. This totally enables some sweet SVU/Gotham crossover headcanon, doesn’t it?!
