Attack on Titan fans eagerly awaiting an update on the anime’s rumored second season, theatrical releases and prequel episodes now finally have some proof that more colossal goodness is headed their way. The first trailer for a two-part prequel series based on the manga of the same name, Attack on Titan: No Regrets is finally here, and Levi enthusiasts curious about the personal history of the stone-cold bad-ass will not be disappointed. Anime News Network has this translation of the promotional clip:

Attack on Titan – The spin-off story No Regrets that tells the story of how Levi and Erwin met gets the very wished-for anime adaptation!

Levi: Farlan, Isabel. Let’s go.

Narrator: The underground city. Protected by the shadows, it was the most safe place for people chosen to live there.

Man: I came to request a job.

Old Man: If you complete this job, what you will receive is not just a large sum of money. It’s a ticket to be accepted above ground.

Levi: Fine.

Text: How did Levi become the strongest soldier in humanity!?

Levi: Just like that bald guy said, as soon as those guys come out, our work starts.

Farlan: That movement…! These guys aren’t the military!

Levi: It’s them… That emblem of the wings of freedom… It’s the Survey Corps.

Text: A thug from the underground city and the young unit captain of the Survey Corps and their sudden meeting.

Erwin: You’re really quick at understanding situations. Have you ever undergone training?

Text: Levi (Voice:Hiroshi Kamiya)

Text: Farlan (Voice: Koji Yusa)

Text: Isabel (Voice: Mariya Ise)

Levi: Show me the strength of a Survey Corps member!

Text: Erwin (Voice: Daisuke Ono)

Erwin: My name is Erwin. Won’t you make a trade with me?

Text: The same staff as the TV anime make a full-force anime adaptation!

Text: Attack on Titan: No Regrets – Part 1/2

According to Anime News, part one of No Regrets will be released in Japan on December 9th, 2014, and part two will follow on April 9th, 2015. io9 speculates that Funimation will likely have to wait until part two is released in Japan before bringing the first of the miniseries to the States—and we likely can’t expect any of Season 2 to be released here until long after both prequels air. Judging from what we already know of Erwin and Levi, do you think No Regrets will be worth the delay?
