Open Thread: Arrow – The Promise

where does he get those wonderful toys

Last night’s high-intensity Arrow picked up right where we left off last time and impressed with some feature film-level action.

Recommended Videos
  • The flashbacks were the major part of this episode, first showing Oliver’s target practice and workouts with Slade.
  • Oliver and Sara exchanging “If we don’t make it…” speeches and Slade sobbing silently into his pillow. Thanks for asking him, jerks.
  • Damn, Shado nightmare.
  • Oh my god, this fire arrow scene is just  like that one in Game of Thrones last season.
  • Slade calls them brothers, awwww.
  • Pretty sure Oliver is getting caught on purpose.
  • Reverend Thomas Flynn, Hendrick were the other prisoner names. I don’t think either are references to established characters.
  • Why the hell did Oliver not call for backup IMMEDIATELY?
  • There’s an island herb remedy for truth serum. How convenient.
  • Roy practicing shooting arrows, with his shirt off. This show…
  • BIG FIGHT!!!
  • ACTION! ADVENTURE!
  • Holy hell that Slade catch of Oliver jumping off the boat!
  • Roy and Sara showing up at the Queen residence gave me such hero feels. Slade being surprised by Sara was a nice touch.
  • He kept the mirakuru, obviously.
  • Slade takes Ivo’s hand, also à la Game of Thrones.
  • Aaaaaand the Queen residence is now wired.

Big stuff on the way! Let us know what you thought of the episode in the comments!
