Once Upon a Time Casts Anna and Kristoff for Its Frozen Universe

It’d be crazy for Disney not to give Once Upon a Time a boost by adding Frozen to the show’s universe. The crossover looks like more than just a brief cameo, too, as new details put Frozen‘s Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff in several episodes for the coming season, and Anna and Kristoff have been cast!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Lail will play Anna, while Kristoff will be played by Scott Michael Foster. Elsa still remains to be cast, so we don’t know yet which actress will have to compete with Regina for angstiest misunderstood magical pseudo-villain, but we do know about how many episodes to expect from each member of the Arendelle crew.

TV Line says that Elsa will appear in nine episodes, Anna in six to eight, and Kristoff in around six. But will Elsa play the big bad this season? TV Line responds:

See, that’s the question I had the second it was confirmed who exactly we saw there in the barn. So I asked the series creators if we’ll perhaps be seeing Elsa before — Frozen movie spoiler alert! — she and Anna happily reunited, back when she was in that epic snit. “Maybe yes, maybe no. It could be after,” Adam Horowitz hedged. “One can be in a snit for many reasons.”

Either way, I’m hoping for an epic Regina/Elsa fight scene, because the whole fireballs versus ice powers gimmick sounds like way too much fun not to play on. Then, they can become BFFs and have their own fire and ice buddy cop spinoff show. I’d watch that.
