Amy Poehler Named Pudding Queen (Basically) By Hasty Pudding; Awarded With Parade, Pot of Pudding

Is the award alliteration based?

On January 29th, Amy Poehler will join the ranks of past pudding prize-winners Meryl Streep, Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Helen Mirren when she leads a parade before being presented with a “Pudding Pot” in Harvard Square by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, a historic Harvard student society. I don’t understand Boston, but I sure like the sound of it.

Hasty Pudding Theatricals president Jason Hellerstein praised the Parks and Rec star in a public statement:

We are extremely excited to announce Amy Poehler as our 2015 Woman of the Year. She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian, and an inspiration to everyone in the Hasty Pudding. […] We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honoring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way.

In her memoir Yes Please, released earlier this year, Poehler equates wanting an award to craving pudding. God bless literal-minded members of prestigious, dessert-themed Harvard societies.
